Art and Ellen Sanborn
Art and Ellen Sanborn have been missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) since 1980. Art’s book, A Walking Miracle, chronicles dozens of miracles they have witnessed, including Art’s miraculous recovery after a bodysurfing accident that left him a quadriplegic. They have planted 12
churches in Thailand, led 65 outreaches and directed 29 YWAM and SMMI training schools. They have also produced a number of evangelistic CD’s and musicals. Art and Ellen’s family consists of: Sean & Anne Sanborn, missionaries to Thailand and their children Samantha & Timothy; Calah & husband Moon, both doctors in Germany, and their children Jonah & Serah, and David Sanborn, a Christian actor, singer and writer. They have a passion for equipping and releasing long term missionaries and Christian performing artists to impact the world for Christ!
Sean and Anne Sanborn
Sean & Anne Sanborn have been YWAM missionaries in ChiangMai Thailand for the last 11 years doing Church planting. They were the DTS school leaders last year and, this year, they are the training directors. Their passion is to train and equip young men and women as missionaries, worshippers and Church planters, so that every Tribe, Nation (people group) and Tongue will worship Jesus now and in the age to come.
David Sanborn
Since graduating from Wheaton College’s Conservatory in 1994, David has made his living as an actor and singer. After getting his start in secular theatre and earning his membership into the Actor’s Equity Association, he sought God for release to use his art as a channel to to express God’s love and redemption. David and his mother, Ellen, then co-wrote “King David” in 1997, and they have been co-writing and performing Gospel-oriented productions ever since. David has been an associate with YWAM during all of that time, often ministering at YWAM bases, but he didn’t officially join YWAM full-time until 2011.
Roger and Marion Kaminski
Roger and Marion Kaminski are retired educators, but you wouldn’t know it from the busy schedules they keep. Both husband and wife have been involved with music and praise and worship at various churches for over twenty years. Marion taught Sunday School, Girls Clubs, and was the church pianist at a local church. She also was a cofounder of Musicale Creations, Inc., which held summer music camps for nine years. Roger taught Young Adult Sunday School and is a praise & worship leader. In 2003 the couple founded TCF, a faith-based, non-profit organization which operated the Christian Edge Coffee House for five years each Saturday evening featuring live Christian music and gourmet coffee drinks. In 2004, they began reaching out to the youth in the community with character development clubs, which currently meet weekly at the Christian Edge. Their passion is to inspire, motivate, and help young people to rise above their circumstances and find their God given purpose in life.
Cynthia Leigh
My journey with YWAM began in 1999 at the Kona, HI base. While serving on the TESOL staff at the University of Nations, I received a definitive confirmation of God’s call to intercession and evangelism through the arts. This call has taken me around the world and into places and amid peoples of His choosing. By using creative art and intercessory prayer, through His empowering I have been able to bring the realities of God, His truths, and love beyond the language of the head, straight to the language of the heart. So, as a sent-out one, a Warrior Bride of Christ, I will continue as commanded to go, and use this visual speech to penetrate hearts for Him. Shalom
Kevan and Lisa Richards
Kevan has an M.F.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Idaho (U of I). He wrote, produced and acted in the one-man show, Ezekiel’s Temple. He co-wrote and acted in, The Damascus Commission, and presently is collaborating on a musical based on the book of Ruth. He taught in the School of Biblical Studies (SBS) for five years in Kona, HI. Lisa studied theatre design at the U of N with Kevan, where she won awards for set, costume and lighting; including competing nationally at the Kennedy Center. She designed costumes and set for: Ezekiel’s Temple, The Damascus Commission, and King David (an off Broadway show). Kevan and Lisa met in SBS in Hong Kong, were married in 1995, and homeschool their four children.
Helen Dean
Helen Dean is a graphic artist who came to the Lord radically in 2004. She has a heart for internationals and has lived overseas while serving in the Army and as a child. Helen has a 14 year old son named Blake who has a heart for Asia and missions also. She meet the Sanborns at a missions training class in St Petersburg, FL where Art Sanborn was invited to lecture. She offered her art services for their ministry and quickly became part of their family and YWAM.
See, Mee Gee
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. That scripture had influenced Mee Gee’s decision to obey God’s calling in September 2011. After being in the corporate world of advertising and marketing for 15 years, she abruptly resigned from her work in October 2011, and found herself in YWAM Tampa. Mee Gee did her DTS recently in January 2011, and went on outreach missions in the US, Malaysia and Thailand. She now returns to serve as a staff for YWAM Tampa. Hailed from Malaysia, Mee Gee is active in both Performing Arts and Worship ministries at her church. Traveling bug hit Mee Gee when she was an infant, and she loves to travel to learn the myriad sights and sounds of different nations. At this moment, God places her in YWAM Tampa for a season, and it has been an adventurous journey so far. Just like what God has told her. And she’s loving it!
